Thousands of people gathered in Miami Beach last weekend for the annual Winter Party Festival, one of the most iconic LGBTQ+ events in the United States.
Celebrating its 33rd anniversary, the event once again transformed South Beach into a vibrant celebration of music, community, and activism.
Hosted by the National LGBTQ Task Force, the festival drew more than 10,000 attendees across a full schedule of parties, performances, and community events.

A Weekend of Celebration in Miami Beach
The festival featured 11 separate day and night events, bringing together DJs, performers, and attendees from around the world.
Among the guest DJs performing throughout the weekend were:
- Abel
- Brady Prince
- GSP
- Jace M
- Joe Pacheco
Together, they helped create the energetic atmosphere that the Winter Party Festival has become known for over more than three decades.

Weather Didn’t Stop the Celebration
Sunday morning brought an unexpected twist when heavy rain and hail briefly hit the Miami Beach area.
Despite the stormy start, the weather quickly cleared and the festival continued on the sands of South Beach, where attendees gathered for one of the weekend’s biggest outdoor events.
According to organizers, the crowd’s enthusiasm never faded.
Andy Garcia, Director of Conferences and Events for the National LGBTQ Task Force, said the weather ultimately made the celebration even more meaningful.
He described the event as a reminder that community and connection remain strong even during challenging moments.

Partying With a Purpose
Beyond the music and dancing, the Winter Party Festival also supports a major cause.
Since 2005, proceeds from the event have helped the National LGBTQ Task Force reinvest approximately $4 million into more than 100 community organizations across South Florida.
The funds also support national programs focused on equality, health, and social justice.

Health and Advocacy at the Event
One of the headline sponsors for the 2026 festival was telehealth company Mistr, which provides access to PrEP and other HIV prevention services.
Their participation comes at an important moment for public health advocacy in Florida.
Earlier this year, the Florida Department of Health announced changes to the state’s AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) that could affect thousands of residents.
Health advocates say approximately 16,000 people could be impacted by new eligibility restrictions introduced as part of the program’s restructuring.

A Celebration of LGBTQ+ Community
Even with serious issues affecting the community, the Winter Party Festival continues to highlight resilience, connection, and joy.
Organizers described the 2026 event as a powerful reminder of what community support looks like in action.
For many attendees, the festival represents more than just a weekend celebration it’s a space where people come together to express identity, build community, and support important causes.
